While We're On the Topic of Awesome Trailers (Dollhouse)

Joss Whedon has new show slated for next fall, and judging from this trailer, it looks to be appropriately filled with geeky cool wonderment. It may even be able to top J.J.'s lukewarm FRINGE (although I hear they're tinkering with the pilot for that one in an attempt to eliminate the surprisingly sucky parts).

AND, it keeps to the trend of Boston awesomeness. So now you have to check it out.

Somewhere, Zina is doing a happy dance...

I read the pilot to DOLLHOUSE, so I wasn't blown away by the trailer. In fact, the show looks very low budget. I love Joss Whedon, so I know it'll just get better and better and will have the more interesting stories, than say FRINGE.

However, the FRINGE pilot looks far slicker and glossy. It looks like it had ten times the budget of DOLLHOUSE, but I don't think the show will have legs. It'll be a standard procedural each week, whereas DOLLHOUSE, well, there's just so much you can do with that premise.

And less of the moderating comments, how paranoid are you?

Huh. I don't think the show looks especially "low budget." It just doesn't look "3 million dollar FRINGE budget." There has to be a middle ground, right? Come to think of it, Whedon shows are never very high budget...

Anyway, the look of the show isn't what got me excited. As you said, the premise is promising.

I saw the FRINGE pilot and it's good enough that I'll watch this fall, but the storytelling is so far unimpressive. How was the DOLLHOUSE pilot?

oh, and I only moderate the posts so I get the alert when responses are put up...I do it more out of laziness than paranoia
